Crystal A. Gonzalez, LMHC

Couples Therapist in Wellington, FL

Hi, I’m Crystal!

I am the owner and founder of Sunshine for the Soul Counseling. I have a bachelor’s degree from University of Central Florida and a dual master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling & Marriage and Family Counseling from Palm Beach Atlantic University.

I have a passion for improving relationships.

My own personal core belief is centered around the importance of relationship. I believe that it all begins with having a desire to learn about our own way of being and having the vulnerability to be a ‘work in progress’. Once we are able to have the mindset shift that we are not perfect, we are able to have compassion for our partner, others, and more importantly ourselves.

How my passion developed

Having worked in the mental health field for over 15 years in most all areas, I noticed that most of my clients were seeking connection. Whether it was early childhood, adolescence, or adulthood, everyone wanted to feel connected to the world. When I was able to work on the family system, or even the relationship system, the shift and level of progress was unparallel. I enjoy bringing out and fostering connection with others. I firmly believe that if I can shine a light on the love of a relationship and provide the skills to foster the growth of that love, healing can happen.

Some things I love…

  • Family (yes this includes my husband & 3 kiddos)— coming from a Latinx community, family is everything.

  • God & Worship— a way I find peace in the midst of the chaos. Although, I don’t necessarily practice Biblical Counseling, I can incorporate faith into the therapy session if (and only if) you request.

  • Career— being in the helping field, it is so rewarding to see when there is growth in my couples & clients.

  • Travel— yes, that’s me canyoneering in that picture above (no big deal), I LOVE to travel the world and experience different cultures & do crazy, adventurous things!

  • Journaling— writing has always been one of my passions, I carry a journal wherever I go in which I write all my thoughts, ideas and inspirations.

  • Reading— a book gives limitless opportunities, in escaping the realities of the day to day and in learning new skills to help me be a better clinician and a better me.
